Read It Forward 2011 has begun!  At the beginning of October, Mrs. Pelias hid wrapped up books in all the classrooms for the children to find.  The trick was...there were not enough books for everyone.  The students are learning about sharing and reading it forward by letting their friends read the book when they are through!

Kindergarten and First Graders are sharing The Pout-Pout Fish for their Read It Foward experience.  After they  finished, several purchased the sequel, The Pout-Pout Fish in the Big, Big Dark at the Smith Book Fair for even more fun!!!  Students who have finished reading The Pout-Pout Fish need to sign the fish poster in the library showing their participation in this fun and interesting book share with friends.

Second and Third Graders found Geronimo Stilton's The Curse of the Cheese Pyramid in their classrooms and are "devouring" through the series books in the library when they are through!  The Smith Book Fair had several book in the series including a packaged set of some great Geonimo Stilton adventures.  After the kids read the book, they need to "read it forward" and sign the big chunk of cheese poster in the library!

The Read It Forward book selection for Fourth and Fifth Graders is a Bluebonnet title for this school year.  The Strange Case of Origami Yoda has been holding the interest of boys and girls alike.  Kids are having fun creating their own origami characters while reading the book!  Yoda is waiting in the library on a poster for the students to sign after they "read it forward".  Darth Paper Strikes Back is the sequel to this book and was at our book fair too!

Believe it or not...Mrs. Pelias did not know that the sequels to every Read It Forward book would be at the book fair.  Sometimes reading great books is just like that!  There could be another great book by the same author!  Here's a great reading tip:  If someone likes a book by a certain author, always look for other books by the same guy or gal!  You could stumble onto a huge stack of more fun through reading adventures!!!
