Third, fourth and fifth grade students enjoyed hearing how Janet Tashjian constantly asks herself the question, "What if...?" while writing her books! Students and staff alike listened intently as Mrs. Tashjian shared writing secrets and tips for our eager Smith writers. She questioned the students to get their creative juices flowing and wake up their writing imaginations. The students created endless lists of synonyms for pictures that Mrs. Tashjian's son, Jake had drawn for her books. Smith students did not disappoint as they came up with words like offering, sharing, suggesting and recommending when it came to the sketch of a waiter with a dessert tray . Students and parents can meet Janet Tashjian for more reading and writing fun at Stonebriar Barnes and Noble this Thursday, October 30 evening!
