Did you know that November is Picture Book Month?!  Wow!  A whole month devoted to awesome one-on-one and read-aloud books to share!  During the month of November, Smith Readers will be reading and sharing picture books in the library.  Several authors are getting together and writing about how important picture books are to learning.

Here are a few quotes from last year's Picture Book Month Essays from famous picture book authors:

"Picture Books can be great art and great art makes for great people and a great society."
Tomie dePaola

"Picture Books open a safe, beautiful path to other worlds, when read and explained in the voice of loved ones."
Rosemary Wells

"Opening a book, reading, and turning the pages can prompt a quizzical look, a smile, a burst of laughter, and so many questions..."
Jerry Pinkney

"Ah, the page turn - the oh-so-wonderful page turn."
Laura Vaccaro Seeger
