March 2 is the day students all over the world are celebrating the fabulous and zany Dr. Seuss' birthday! World Read Aloud Day, or Read Across America Day gives students another chance to celebrate reading with their friends.
This year at Smith the Kindergarten students enjoyed The Cat in the Hat for a read aloud before creating their own Cat in the Hat mask. Most of the students had heard this story before, but you can never have enough of the silly Dr. Seuss! Some students heard him for the first time and were amazed at the fun stories he shared! No one wanted Thing 1 or Thing 2 to show up while their Mother was out...that was for sure!
The Watch Dog of the Day, Mr. Ericson and a library mom, Mrs. Thompson helped students put their masks together. We were so glad they could join in the fun today!!! Happy Birthday, Dr. Seuss!!!
