Aaron Reynolds visited Smith Kindergarten through third graders on Monday, March 20, 2017.  Students and teachers alike were thrilled by his presentation.  Mr. Reynolds is most famous for his book, Creepy Carrots.  This story takes place near a carrot field where a hungry rabbit hops by and just steals away a snack every time he passes.  He hatches a plan to keep the carrots from creeping after him, but that isn't the only plan that is coming to be.  First grade students in Mrs. Pitts art class created their own Creepy Carrots out of clay, fired and glazed them.  Mr. Reynolds was more than amazed by the students' finished products!  Thank you, Mrs. Pitts for such great collaboration with our author visit.

Enjoy these pictures and ask any student what they thought of Aaron Reynolds visit.  Kindergarteners are so proud to know someone famous!!!  All of the students were excellent audience members and made the Smith family so proud!
